Our Players are currently in our January/February Training Block.
What follows is a brief description of the current workouts.
The workout/schedule for each player varies. While some players may have a more intense or frequent schedule, all workouts & activities are important to that individual player’s development as we move to the try out date. For player specific detail, please have a conversation with your player.
What we are doing now:
Strength & Performance Description: This will consist of 2 training sessions per week which we will emphasize explosive movements, speed, and fierce team and individual competitions as a part of our annual Iron Falcon Challenge.
Throwing Sessions Description: This will consist of 3 training sessions per week where the focus will be on developing high level throwing patterns through the use of video analysis and corrective movements as well as develop arm conditioning and velocity. Players will also move into bullpens & pitch design as they move closer to the tryout date.
Those not participating with this group will be given an autonomous throwing program developed by the coaching staff to condition their arms in preparation for tryouts.
Hitting Sessions Description: Upperclassmen and select underclassmen will participate in one hitting session per week where direct instruction will be provided by the coaching staff.
Additionally, two open dome opportunities (one for upperclassmen and one for underclassmen) will be provided per week. These sessions will consist of overhand and pitching machine reps.
Catching Skill Work: Catchers will receive one skill development session per week.
