NEST ROOF REPAIR

RENOVATIONS - WINTER 2023
INFIELD NETTING
In November and December we embarked on "The Netting Project."
A significant portion of the old chain-link fence down the first base and third base lines was removed and replaced with a new 3 ft. high base fence from which netting up to a height of 15 ft. was installed.
The netting would not only improve the fan viewing experience, but provide a much needed enhancement of spectator safety. This safety enhancement includes better spectator protection from the first base side bull pen AND additional protection of "The Nest" windows from wayward foul balls.
At any baseball game fans must remain aware and vigilant at all times.
Additional netting may help to deter balls from leaving the field, it does not prevent all balls from leaving the field.
This project was funded by the ongoing support of our Annual Donors and the Falcon Dugout Club.

In July 2022 we were able to execute a needed improvement to our infield playing surface.
Over time, weather, use, and maintenance issues rendered an inconsistent surface, on-going puddling, and a mis-aligned pitching mound.
Through the generosity of our donors for this project, we were able to engage
Earthworks & Sprinklers, Sports Field Construction and Wright's Well and Irrigation
to execute an overhaul and re-alignment.

In February 2022 we were able to improve the lighting in "The Dome."
Existing UFO high bay lighting was replaced with
new LED Linear high bays and 4 more LED lights were installed down the center line.

NEW GARAGE DOOR
With addition to the First Base Dugout, we were able to move the Field Maintenance Equipment to the new garage. The old space has been secured with a new garage door. Now the players have a place to store their equipment and warm up before games and practices.

FIRST BASE DUGOUT EXTENSION

We have completed the the extension behind the first base dugout.
This 5-bay garage style storage facility, with LED lighting and multiple power outlets, allows us to securely store the field equipment and other field maintenance items formerly housed in the small garage at the nest.
This will enable the team to utilize the old indoor space at the nest for players’ equipment storage, meetings, and other activities.
We are grateful to the Falcon Dugout Club for its support in our ongoing efforts to improve our Cox Falcon Baseball Facility, Tilley Field.
